In September 2013 we launched TSB back onto high streets right across Britain and set out on our mission to bring more competition to UK banking – and ultimately make banking better for all UK consumers. That meant we had to do things differently to other banks – like removing sales targets and delivering a customer experience that really was designed with the customer at the heart of it.  We don’t do any funny business and we only operate in the UK.

3) The Link.

The Link is an opportunity for our Partners to have honest conversations with our top leadership team.  There are five regional groups across the country who meet regularly to discuss major initiatives.  After each round of meetings, the outputs from each regional meeting are combined and presented direct to our executive team.  A number of the Link’s recommendations have been supported by the Executive team.

So, that’s how the The Link contributes to the future of TSB; helping our top leaders to make informed decisions about matters that really count.

4) Diversity and Inclusion.

We want everyone to be the best they can, so we are building the most inclusive culture we can here at TSB.  Our Inclusion Network is a diversity network that is focused on helping all TSB employees fulfil their potential, regardless of gender, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation or anything else that makes them different.  Inclusion is led by a group of Partners from across TSB, all with different backgrounds and personal situations.  One thing we all have in common is a commitment to raising the awareness and impact of inclusion across TSB.

 6) Community and Charities.

We decided to take a local approach to the communities and charities we support.  We currently have over 460 Local Charity Partners, chosen by our Partners across the UK.  Every one of our 580+ branches and eight sites supports at least one Local Charity Partner.  We organise lots of events to raise money for our Local Charity Partners, from cake sales to balls to sponsored cycles and have lots of fun in the process. TSB also encourages every single Partner to do a day’s volunteering for a local charity on a work day.

 7) Our benefits.

Not only do we ensure our salaries are market rate, but we also offer a host of competitive benefits.  On top of your basic salary, all Partners receive an additional 4% of basic salary to purchase flexible benefits, a great pension scheme whereby the more you contribute, the more TSB contributes, flexible working and a generous holiday allowance, share schemes and depending on grade, private medical cover and a car allowance.  In addition to all these great perks, the TSB Award is an annual award which provides the same on-target opportunity for all Partners across TSB, regardless of grade or position in the company.

9) Technology.

Banks aren’t particularly well known for having great technology, but TSB is going through a large migration programme just now which will mean we have fantastic technology to help us serve our customers and work better.  It’s an exciting time for us, particularly for those with a passion for technology.

10) We saved the best until last, our CEO Paul Pester.

He’s a fun, normal but incredibly competitive type of guy. He holds a weekly stand up call for Partners across the organisation to listen to what’s on his mind and his diary. He also shares successes along with encouraging focus on what’s important. He’s also well respected in the industry.

Plunging into the Thames in a wet suit might not be top of your January to do list. But the #BeatTheBoss London Triathlon challenge took place in July. For the third year running we entering 125 TSB Partners in the 2017 London Triathlon.

Paul sponsored every partner who enters £50, and if you beat his time in the sprint distance he doubled the sponsorship. This year the time to beat was 1 hour 16 minutes and 52 seconds.

To support our goal of bringing more competition and choice to the UK market, we have exciting opportunities for mortgage professionals who are CeMap qualified and totally focused on customer service.  In order to suit our customer’s needs its important you have the ability to be work flexibly in terms of location and hours worked.

Working in close partnership with the local management team you’ll be responsible for providing high quality, compliant service to our existing customers while also prospecting for new customers. Using your qualification and proven ability, you'll slot straight into our branch teams in supporting our local Communities. Successful candidates will be outstanding team players with strong organisation skills who are motivated to provide the quality of service our customers expect.

Industrial Placements

Industrial Placements 2017/2018

TSB’s Industrial Placement (IP) scheme is open to students wishing to spend a year of their degree working in industry.  Our programme offers great hands-on experience in a corporate environment – giving you a sense of understanding, problem solving and how to communicate across different business areas.

The skills you gain whilst with TSB will stand you in good stead for the final year of your studies and will help your graduate employability.

At the end of your placement you should be able to articulate:

  • TSB’s organisational design
  • Details of your department and skills required
  • How your role supports TSB

The placement will run from July 2017 until July 2018 and is open to undergraduates wishing to spend their 3rd year of their degree in industry.

Our approach to reward and benefits reflects our core values and supports our business strategy. We’ve based this approach on the following principles:

Hopefully you’ve already noticed that we don’t think of ourselves as a normal bank.  To underline this approach, we’ve extensively updated our reward and benefits package to make sure it truly reflects our values and sets us apart from other banks.  Our new approach to reward went live at the start of 2015.

At the moment, when you join us, you will be eligible for various benefits, including:

  • Up to 30 days holiday.
  • A Flexible Benefits scheme, where TSB will give you a payment equivalent to 4% of your base salary to use on the scheme.  This enables you to select from a variety of benefits - such as private medical cover, holiday trading, and a number of insurance products - or you can choose to simply receive cash. 
  • A competitive defined contribution pension scheme, with employer contributions of up to 13% of your base salary.

  • Company car or car allowance, depending on grade.
